In a booklet that Suzi John put out last year, titled: Living Your Life In God's Prosperity. In one of the sections, chapter 2 - if you own the booklet- she discusses how the first thing we as believers need to do is put God first. So from this section, I'd like to share the verses that she did, although I'll use the KJV as that is close to me.

Deuteronomy 28:1-14:
And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.

Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.

Blessed shalt thou be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.

Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.

Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.

The Lord shall command the blessing upon  thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto;
andhe shall bless thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

The Lord shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, and walk in his ways.

And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the Lord; and they shall be afraid of thee.

And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers to give thee.

The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.

And the lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath: if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to obsedrve and to do them:

And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

Isn't God awesome?

Proverbs 6:20:
My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck.

When thou goest, it shall lead thee: when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee: and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.

For the commandment is a lamp: and the law is light; and reproofs of instuction  are the way of life:

And in Proverbs 7:1-3
My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments, with thee.

Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.

Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.

Let me finish by reminding you all of a song we sung last weekend, which I haven't sung in quite a while.

I've got a home in glory land that (clap)
Out shines the sun,
I've got a home in glory land that (clap)
Out shines the sun,
I've got a home in glory land that (clap)
Out shines the sun, look away beyond the blue.

Funny thing was, we sang several verses and the question was posed, what's another verse? My outburst was Do Lord, but no, it was something different. Did I ever feel foolish. Good thing feelings come and go, years back that foolish feeling would have kept me down, but, hey, my home is in glory land, it outshines the sun and one day I'll be able to look away beyond the blue.

Anyhoo, In Psalm 35:27-28:
Let them shout for joy and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.

And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long.

Thanks to our Great, Big, Awesome God that we (all of us) are in this thing together. I was wrong, that's the perfect phrase, idea.  Hallelulia. Love you all.
