What's our purpose here on earth? That is the question many folks have had at one time or another in their life. Some pose that question to themselves when they are in their early twenties, some are only out to 'find' theirselves not realizing they are not alone in their quest. Others do their searching when they are much older, maybe some not at all.

Hum... what is our purpose here on earth? Many would say that everyone's purpose here is different. I would like to propose that our basic purpose is the same, but how each person lives that purpose is entirely up to them.

God is the creator of the heavens and the earth. When He created mankind, His goal was always that man/woman would love Him and live His word. Man was never intended to direct their own lives or to live without the spirit of God within.

If you really want to improve the quality of your life, then it behooves you to recognize that God did indeed create life, and then give Him the credit and glory for doing so. God's desire for us, his purpose for us is that we trust Him and allow Him to direct our paths.

Contrary to what some people believe, God would never ask us to do anything at cross purposes to our free will choice. On the other hand He might steer us in a direction that we are afraid to go, not because it's dangerous, but because it's different from what we're used to in some way. Maybe He wants us to be a bit of an extrovert when our tendencies are the opposite. By this I'm talking about preaching salvation to someone you've never talked to before. Another way would be inspiring us to teach, or sing in front of a group of people we know, when we might prefer hiding in a closet.

God would never force you to do His will, yet over time He might encourage you in some manner that touches your heart, so you can get to the place where you are willing and confident to do what He is asking.

I know of a gal that several years ago asked God what He wanted her to do with her life. He let her know that He wanted her to move to Nicaragua, so she got her affairs in order here in the USA and moved to Nicaragua. It was hard for her at first, she needed to learn the language, but she is really seeing God work in her life and the lives of the people she teaches His word to.

I would love to be able to do that. I would love to trust God enough to ask what or where He wants me to go today and then do what He says. And why can't I do that, you might ask? Mainly because I have debts to get paid up first, and children to raise. But hopefully one day in the future, I too can do/go wherever He asks.

Until then, I can still remember to ask Him daily what He wants me to do that day. Because, He is more than willing and able to work in me to will and to do of His good pleasure. Phillipians 2:13.

So the beginning of having or improving the quality of one's life is recognizing that God is right there with you; ready, willing and able to help you in whatever category you may need help in. It doesn't matter our age, our health situation, our weight, or any other obstacle, we can and will overcome.
